3-Year Enterprise SaaS Redesign

Imagine five Frankenstein platforms stitched together: slow, clunky, and ugly. Every day, restaurant owners wrestled with a clunky interface just to order tomatoes. It was like they were trying to sprint through molasses.

We needed to design a tool for the folks who feed us, one that got out of their way.

We built CustomerFirst from scratch: a modern, mobile-friendly tool for thousands of foodservice operators, unified under one clean experience.

The phone in the background shows the app’s dashboard interface with order status updates, delivery and pickup timelines, and featured product promotions. The design emphasizes intuitive navigation and a premium foodservice experience.”

Skills Forged in the [Grease] Fire

  • Real Product Design: Took a dusty concept from napkin sketch to full-scale tool used by tens of thousands.

  • Design + Dev Collaboration: Sat elbow-to-elbow with PMs and engineers to shape strategy, prioritize fixes, and ship fast.

  • Strategy Confidence: Learned when to push back, when to listen, and how to balance user love with business needs.

THE CHALLENGE

Designing for Speed, Scale, and Sanity

Because what’s good for the user is good for the numbers.

One of the biggest food distributors in the U.S. had a mess on its hands: five systems, five UIs, zero mobile. No chef had time for this.

We built one platform that worked fast, on any device, made finding products intuitive, and measureably increased case sales.

Pricing, quantities, and repeat order button are clearly visible, showcasing the app’s streamlined experience for tracking and reordering supplies.

THE PROCESS

You want receipts?
Here's how the sausage was made.

I realize case studies can be a slog.
Showing UX process work is like explaining how you made a sandwich. Necessary, but not riveting. Below are snapshots from this beast of a project I helped bring to life. I was part of the full ride, from research to release, and got to ship a real, working product that made a real difference to operators.

I share this project to show that I don’t just speak design; I’ve lived it, shipped it, and made it make money.

Tasks I personally touched are indicated with a fingerprint on the right edge of the slide.

From yikes to usable.
